All things with limitations require balance. I rarely do complete denial, as I tend to crave things I tell myself I cannot have. So instead of completely stopping any of these items, I reduce and substitute. My first step towards health was to reduce animal sourced fats. I reduces my Egg and Dairy intake and I limit my meat intake. I was previously keto for almost 20 years. I moved from 2 meat servings per day to meat 4 times per week, one serving - and I reduced the size of servings to about half the size of my palm). I avoid processed sugars, and I restrict alcohol. I try to avoid processed foods wherever possible.
I eat a lot of vegetables, pinto and black beans. I eat fruit, fresh frozen and dehydrated, and raw honey. I do use some organic canned items, and some pasta made from organic brown rice and water. I eat rice, nuts and potatoes. When I eat regular potatoes, I usually will bake/boil them, then allow them to cool and cook again - think twice baked. This converts the starch to a more resistive starch supporting our bodies processing. Yellow and White Sweet potatoes are a particular favorite.
The sunshine is my friend. I work at a computer most days, I take off my glasses and spend my breaks barefoot in the back yard. This accomplishes two things, earthing - connecting to mother earth without shoes, reduces inflammation and releases overcharge brought about by our all electric environments. Getting sunlight in our eyes (not staring at the sun - to be clear) allows the production of vitamin D and counteracts the blue light overexposure of modern life.
I also supplement B and D vitamins and Krill Oil.
Equal Parts Coconut Oil and Extra Virgin Olive Oil (2 ounces each) and 1 tablespoon of Baking Soda, with a splash of food grade lemon or peppermint oil.
I alternate this with baking soda on its own.
I rinse and gargle with hydrogen peroxide
My father was allergic to commercial deodorants. I used to be able to use them, but have developed sensitivity over time.
One of my available products is a mix of Shea Butter and Myrrh Oil - which effectively kills bacteria. I use under my arms and anywhere else I want to keep fresh and bacteria free.
